Script Portfolios

No one formula leads to producing a "good", production-ready play. Each writer's unique vision demands a method of creation tailored to his or her specific needs. The process which a writer adopts may sometimes be found along the way, and may even continue to evolve. In turn, a process may inform the writer's vision, and so on...

From Jan Derbyshire's one-woman show to Jason Sherman's documentary-style drama, the Script Portfolios exemplify different creative processes which accommodate a variety of needs. Three of the plays have been developed with Playwrights' Workshop Montreal, and demonstrate possible (though not exhaustive) applications of some of our programs such as Extended Workshops, Artists in Residence, and Transmissions, our translation project.

The Script Portfolios included below are not definitive. In the near future, we intend to build upon the current portfolios to reflect to a greater extent Playwrights' Workshop Montreal's local and national mandate.
